1. Overview
Taxer is a Nigerian tax preparation and compliance platform. We collect only the data needed to help you understand, file and pay your taxes. We never sell personal data.
2. Data we collect
- Account details (name, email, phone) you provide on signup.
- Tax identifiers (NIN/TIN) you submit during onboarding.
- Income, payroll and document data you upload for filing.
- Usage analytics for product improvement.
3. How we use it
We use your data to compute your tax position, prepare returns, generate reports and (where you enable it) liaise with your Account Manager. Where we use AI to extract or summarise documents, no third party receives raw personal data without your consent.
4. Storage and security
Data is encrypted at rest and in transit. Access is restricted by role-based controls. We retain records for the period required by Nigerian tax law (typically 6 years for tax records).
5. Your rights (NDPA)
- Access — request a copy of your data.
- Correction — fix anything inaccurate.
- Erasure — close your account and remove non-statutory data.
- Objection — opt out of marketing and non-essential analytics.
